wetria vs Copilot in PowerPoint: a prompt per slide, or the whole deck checked

Copilot is the strongest built-in option if your company is on Microsoft 365 with Copilot licences and an admin has set up a Brand Kit: it works inside PowerPoint, on your template, one request at a time. wetria takes the whole deck, rebuilds it on your template or redesigns it, checks every slide against the original and hands it back for PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides or Figma.

What Copilot does well

Microsoft has moved fast. Copilot in PowerPoint can add slides, update existing content and reorganise sections. With a Brand Kit selected it can reformat a presentation to match the branded template, and since June 2026 it can restyle an existing deck using another presentation as a reference. A Brand Kit accepts .pptx and .potx files or a template from the company's Organization Asset Library. Microsoft states that prompts and data are not used to train its foundation models.

Where the two differ

  • Access. Brand Kits are documented for enterprise users and need a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence, listed at $30 per user per month, paid yearly, on top of a qualifying Microsoft 365 plan. wetria needs only an account; plans start at $26 a month.
  • How you work. Copilot works prompt by prompt inside the open file. wetria takes the deck and a one-line brief and returns the finished result, which you then comment on.
  • Layout changes. Microsoft's documentation says Copilot does not change font size or placeholder size when it applies a brand. wetria recomposes slides when you ask for Design, and reads how much text each placeholder of your template holds before it moves a deck onto it.
  • Checking. wetria compares every slide with your original before you see it, so nothing is silently dropped.
  • Apps. Copilot is PowerPoint. wetria exports to PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides and Figma, plus a PDF.
  • Charts. Whether charts made by Copilot carry editable data is not stated on Microsoft's support pages. wetria keeps chart data live in PowerPoint and Keynote.

When Copilot is the right call

You already pay for Copilot, the Brand Kit is set up, and the job is a handful of edits in a deck you are working on anyway. Asking in the file is quicker than sending the deck anywhere.

When wetria is the right call

The deck is long, it came from someone else, and it has to look like one designer made it: one grid, every title in the same place, charts in the template's colours, nothing lost. Or your team is not on Copilot, or it works in Keynote or Google Slides. Or the deck contains client data and has to be sanitized before anyone outside sees it. See what wetria is.

Frequently asked questions

Can Copilot use my company template?

Yes, through a Brand Kit built from a .pptx or .potx or your Organization Asset Library. It is documented for enterprise users and needs a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence.

Can Copilot redesign a whole existing deck?

It can restyle an existing deck using a reference presentation and reformat it to a Brand Kit, working inside PowerPoint. Microsoft notes that large or complex presentations may exceed system limits.

Do I need Microsoft 365 to use wetria?

No. wetria works from a .pptx or PDF and exports to PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides and Figma.

Which is cheaper?

It depends on what you already pay for. Microsoft 365 Copilot is listed at $30 per user per month, paid yearly. wetria plans start at $26 a month per account, priced by usage in tokens.
